This week I started by finishing the digital version of the town scene.

Next on my to-do list is to work on the UI interiors for the shops in the town. We had previously discussed doing a little bit of customisation in each area and so would need a design for each shop interior, however, this week it was decided that we would primarily focus on the UI of the church for stat allocation points and the sheriff's office for mission collection. As much as I am still holding out for a little bit of each customisation as oppose to a lot of customisation in one area, I can appreciate our time constraints and how the team leader is prioritising certain elements of the game.

For the UI interiors I have to create a background environment design to fit alongside the buttons and menu design to showcase the customisations. This week I have come up with a range of designs for these interiors to discuss with the group.

Alongside these visual elements I also put together a mood board for fonts but in the end decided to use the font style found in the original game trailer for 'Wild Wild Animals' (see Bernado's GDD linked on my homepage).

I also started to experiment with some 2D animations. There has been a lot of discussions around how we may use these sequences and so I decided to start prototyping some basic key frames in the same style as the town to give a visual for this design requirement. The key frames were met with a lot of enthusiasm from the group and so we have decided to do the cutscenes of the narrative in this style. Next week I will receive a step-by-step plot from the narrative lead to start visually planning.

Below are the initial key frames I showed the group this week (these are based off of a comedic pre-battle sequence where the teams are squaring up to each other in the desert).

Here is a 1 frame per second (fps) video of these key frames. I'm hoping this will give the group a visual idea of what I am aiming to achieve.
