This week we discussed QA testing (Quality Assurance). Below is an example of a smoke alarm test which is one of the most common types of QA testing.

This week I also discussed the UI interior designs with the project leader. Of the seven ideas I proposed we decided on the final one to take forward for the church scene, depicting a set of windows in front of a team character, each displaying one of the stat trees. We also decided that the UI for inside the Sheriff’s office would not be necessary. Instead there will be animations made as part of my job later in the project as oppose to coding another menu. Personally I think this puts too much weight into the narrative using cinematic shots (it has also been discussed that animations may be used for a narrative intro, transitions between battles, introducing new character etc.). Having said this it means I can work on my 2D animation skills later in the project and for now work on other elements of the vertical slice.

Later this week I mocked up the church scene for further development later on.
