Week 11 - Lockdown Learning

For our first session back after Christmas break we had a check-in discussion, sharing our fears for our final few months at university as well as the positives of this time despite being in lockdown. A lot of people discussed their mental health, motivation and not having the right resources to facilitate their work. The situation is difficult for everyone at this time and throughout my time at university I have always prioritised my mental health and wellbeing over work. I'm incredibly grateful that I get to live at home with my family whilst still being able to study and that I enjoy working in this space. There is still a balance to strike with working at home but I am excited for the project and I don't feel as if my motivation has dipped. My only concern is my personal portfolio for job opportunities when the degree comes to an end however I'm primarily focussing on producing the highest quality of work that I can and then promoting myself later.

It was good for us to have this space to talk as a group, particularly as we use an anonymous platform meaning everyone could speak about their personal feelings towards the work without being singled out. After this session we split into our groups and had a discussion with our lecturer. We mostly discussed the game proposal document itself with formalities and practical details.

In the afternoon we then went onto develop our presentation. Using onedrive, myself and James were able to work on the presentation at the same time whilst also having video chat meetings (which we have regularly, several times a week to make sure we are always on the same page with the project). The button below shows our presentation as well as my personal speech notes below that.
