Based on the feedback I received I decided to go with the Inked Ladies idea. The scope seemed appropriate for the project and I also had a few other people interested in working on it with me. I also found that a lot of the details in this idea I could visualise much more easily than other concepts. I had approached another member of the class a couple of weeks prior as his project aligned with some of the ideas I wanted to implement. At the time James proposed ideas surrounding textiles and I thought his craft skills could be a really great compliment to the physical modelling nature of my game style. After my presentation he said he was excited for the idea and so we have teamed up for next semester to bring the inked ladies to life.

A couple of days after this presentation myself and James had a meeting regarding what our thoughts were on the project and starting to get a rough idea of what we wanted to achieve. The group dynamic has been great so far as we both seem aligned on how the game should look and feel. The current discussions are throwing around a lot of ideas as to how we could approach the making of the game and I think this is a solid start to the project.

We started to discuss a to-do list for the proposal document and what we would like to include. After discussions with our lecturer we are looking to include various examples of what we will achieve, such as a basic movement prototype, character designs, an art guide on visual style, sculpting tests etc. however we have a lot more to define before this document can be started.

Ideas - basic clay model - corkboard with poster designs? Curtain door? Briefcase? barrel, crates, flowers, street lamps? Supply cupboard, the bar, the circus ring etc.

  • Idea that you have an old circus book about all of these performers and you can find polaroids around the place with little notes about their history - maybe with some real facts and inspiration? This can help boost your relationships with the ladies.

  • Maybe if you collect all of the memoirs of one girl it triggers a 2D animation of  their dancing, their experience, their youth, getting their tattoos?
